DAY 1 IN VERNON
Vernon
On your first day, take the time to appreciate the town of Vernon. Take a stroll around or follow the tourist circuit from Place Barette (town hall, collegiate church) to the legendary Vieux Moulin (Old Mill), via the Archives Tower. Fall under the charm of the authentic medieval streets and timber-frame houses.
Blanche Hoschédé-Monet Museum
As you explore the area, be sure not to miss the Blanche Hoschedé-Monet Museum. There, you’ll discover an authentic work by the Impressionist painter Claude Monet, *Le Tondo*. You can also explore a room dedicated to animal art, featuring a richly detailed collection of drawings. Château de Bizy
After lunch, head to Château de Bizy. Its elegant style will probably remind you of the Palace of Versailles, which inspired it. You will also fall in love with its stables and vast park, its fountains and its century-old trees.
DAY 2 IN GIVERNY
From Vernon, head to Giverny by bike via ‘La Seine à vélo’ and the greenway.
Claude Monet’s house
Setting off from Vernon, follow the ‘La Seine à Vélo’ cycle route and then the ‘Voie Verte’ for a cycle ride that will take you all the way to Giverny. Along the way, you’ll find peaceful paths, landscapes that look as though they’ve stepped straight out of a painting, and that gentle sense of freedom that comes with every turn of the pedals. In about thirty minutes, you’ll arrive in Monet’s village, ready to explore his house, his gardens and the Giverny Museum of Impressionism. It’s beautiful, full of flowers, and it makes you want to take your time.
